I'm struggling with this review because I always like GB books, and this one isn't bad, but this one isn't great either. I will buy anything this author puts out without hesitation, but I felt like this story was a bit lacking. I wasn't very emotionally involved in the story, I didn't find myself unable to put the book down, I didn't want to be or be with either main character, and at the end I wasn't sad the story was over because I wanted to know what the characters would do next. There was very little relationship development between the main characters. They never exchanged an I love you, and hopped into bed once in the middle of the book. By the end of the story they are finally driving off to an impromptu 1st date. The whole story was gym descriptions and going round and round over the fact that Spencer was unhappy in her life and current relationship but wouldn't do anything about it.Overall, I feel bad for saying anything negative about one of my favorite authors, but if I were to rank her impressive list of published books, this one would fall to the lower end of the pile, though it's still worth the read and is added to my collection. Like other reviewers of this book, I have read, and will continue to read everything Georgia Beers has published/will publish. Also like other reviewers, I don't believe this is one of her better works. I tried, but could not find any semblance of a romance occurring in the story. Perhaps if Rebecca and Spencer hadn't found each other while Spencer was engaged to someone else, it would have been more palatable and believable as a romance. Spencer thinks of her fiancé as droning on, even though Spencer doesn't do anything to facilitate discourse. But with Rebecca, Spencer is all attention - hangs on her every word, watches her constantly. My stomach hurt while I was reading the part in which Marti showed up at the gym to give Spencer a ride, and Rebecca, Marti and Spencer were standing near the car. The hidden looks and touches between Spencer and Rebecca were just so disrespectful and hurtful. Just not a lot to like about them. I understand that cheating can/does occur in relationships, but in the context of this book, i think it killed the "romance" for me.
